ROCKLAND – A registered Personal Support Specialist agency is offering a tuition assistance program for candidates enrolled in the Personal Support Specialist class that begins October 30 at the Mid-Coast School of Technology Adult Education.
Bridges Home Services (a division of Spectrum Generations) is seeking licensed caregivers to fill PSS positions in Knox, Waldo, and Lincoln counties, and will consider paying course tuition for students eligible to be employed by Bridges Home Services. Pursue this unique opportunity to begin your new career in home health care with this 50 hour course offered by Mid-Coast School of Technology Adult Education.
Classes will be held Mondays, 8:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. for seven weeks. This PSS program is approved by the Department of Health and Human Services and gives successful graduates state certification to work in home care programs and residential care facilities. It is also a valuable training for individuals caring for a family member at home. The training includes how to provide personal care and deal with emergencies, communication skills, reporting and documentation, and issues of consumer rights and aging.
