Adult Day
Serving You For Over 40 Years
Who Are We and Who Do We Serve?
For over 40 years, we have had the privilege to assist adults with cognitive impairments, health monitoring needs, and individuals with the required supervision for safety in our Adult Day and Community Support Services (ADCSS) programs. Our Adult Day program is a center-based program, providing stimulating activities and socialization opportunities to its members. The service is designed for flexibility based on the member and caregiver’s schedule, needs, and comfort.
The ADCSS team takes a person centered and compassionate approach with each member to live a safe, healthy, and fulfilling life. We value the uniqueness of each individual and the caregivers that support them. As part of Spectrum Generations, Central Maine’s Area Agency on Aging, the service also provides well needed respite to caregivers and resources for them to continue to grow in the skills needed to provide the best quality care. The Adult Day program is a great option to assist with keeping the one you care for at home as long as possible.
Our Adult Day program is staffed with Direct Support Professionals with First Aid/ CPR Certifications. Our staff are trained to assist all clients with personal care needs and can administer medications as Certified Residential Medication Aids. Our Services
Adult Day and Community Support Services Programs
Our Adult Day program offers a hot nutritious meal, prepared in our commercial kitchens, opportunities for community involvement and socialization, physical activities and stimulating skill building activities. Daily activities are decided upon by the active members to support and encourage a positive well-being that enhances living a fulfilling life. ADCSS has the added benefits of an ADA compliance van to help members access the community. A sample of bringing programs into our Adult Day center include Matter of Balance classes, Literacy Volunteers, musicians and entertainment.
Bridges Home Services is the first agency in Maine to provide Adult Day and Community Support Services programs in the same center-based setting. Through this combined level of service, older adults with cognitive impairments and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities are supported together in one location. While their services are provided through duel programming and administered by trained, certified, and deeply caring staff, incredible friendships and life-long bonds are cultivated among the ADCSS participants and surrounding community.
